It is a bill proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.
This was introduced by Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano from NY on Jan 06-2009
No big deal, right ? Well, it has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, and on Feb 09-2009 it was referred to the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties.

Maybe it is a lack of understanding, I am not calling people stupid ( cough cough ) but maybe some folks just do not have any idea where these actions and ideas can lead us
I found a cartoon that shocked me when I first saw it It was made in 1948 at Harding College and it gives the most simple explanation to where we are headed that I have seen so far. It is a little over 9 minutes, but well worth your time

Fortunately, such an amendment would have to be approved by 3/4 of the states. We're not that far gone, are we?
Still, the very idea of such a thing is bothersome. You just know some people would support it and keep Obama around for as long as he wanted.
It is frightening. It seems 40% of the people can only see 2 minutes down the road.
I have read this previously and found it to be quite absurd.
I seriously doubt that Obama will make it past one term, much less two (or more).

It isn't quite a menacing as it sounds. He proposed the same amendment to all of these previous Congresses and each time the bill died in the same Subcommittee. However, that does not mean that it will die once more but as of 7/23/2010 no action has been taken.
