We Shall Be Free ?

I was flipping through the channels on the TV today listening to all the big news stations, and heard of more layoffs, and more money problems in the government, and more of our economy doing a nosedive

Money, the true root of all evil, has kept us from what humanity should be.

Have you ever seen this Garth Brooks video ? Its called " we shall be free " and it has a fantastic message, but the only ones that can see the point Garth was trying to make are those of us here at the bottom of life.

Greed has consumed our politicians, and our Government. It has made them corrupt, and has made them lose sight of the people's best interest.
What would be best for our economy, and what would help to bring us together ?
Money ?
The high cost of food, housing, and transportation keeps some folks that work 40 or more hours a week in poverty, yet we elect senators and congressmen to office that make 6 figures or more a year that could care less about the family of 3 or 4 that use 75 % of their bring home pay just to have a roof over their head

We need to eliminate the greed.

Last night on the No Spin Zone, Mr O'Riley had a story about an old man that died in his home because he had no heat. It seems that the power company had shut his power off in freezing temperatures because he was late on his bill

When the man was found, they found cash paper clipped to his power bill. Bill said it was a disgrace, and said it should never happen. He then said he would make sure it would not happen again, and told his viewers if people had a problem with their power bill, send it to him

That's what our country has forgotten about. A line in that song says " When money talks for the very last time, we shall be free " I believe it.

Watch it again and see how you feel

What Message Does This Send ??

I have to say, I don't like it.

But I am not happy with a lot that has been happening

Now we are gonna close Gitmo in a year. Will the detainees be set free, or brought to the United States ?

I watched him today sign the orders to close the place down, and also watched him end the so-called torture of terrorist's
What is Waterboarding ??

I found this video, and of all the ones I watched, it seemed the most real. I watched it 3 times, and and decided for myself that I still agree with it

Let me say that again, I AGREE WITH WATERBOARDING !

I agree with whatever it takes to keep the United States free from terrorist attacks, be it waterboarding, or wiretaps, or a marine that has just lost his friend to a sniper attack, alone in a room with a suspected terrorist.
I think Obama is wrong on Gitmo, and wrong in interfering with the questioning of terrorists, and I fear that he will make us all vulnerable to the same people that those demonstrators want to protect

I have a family to protect, and I remember what happened to us

I know it could happen again

For the ones not afraid to stand for what they believe, We are here

OK Whitey....Times Up !!!

I borrowed my title from a thread on a Craigslist R&R post that was started last Friday. The original poster wrote that the time had come for the black man.Time had come for " his "
people to stand and take what they deserved.
As I continued to read his rantings, I also read post's by others that inserted pictures of gangbangers, and photoshoped pic's of people fighting over a bucket of KFC, stating that this is what we have to look forward to.
The one thing that got my attention about the original posters rant, was the fact that in every entry, he stated that it was time to get what he deserved, and in reality, that is what I am afraid our new President will bring to the white house

Thomas Jefferson said " To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."

The same idea is present today by many that are preparing for " punishment " for hard work. The very idea of a welfare system for those that refuse to do better for themselves is a slap in the face to those that choose to be self reliant, and work for a better life

I am not a fan of Obama, and at the same time, I do wish him well because no matter what, I am still an American and will stand by the decision made by our nation, and as an American, I can still cry foul when I see something wrong.
Obama's approval rating as of today, before he is even sworn in, is at 80%, but for what ?
Obama stated recently in a speech that " the problems are deep and it may take months (even years) to fix them. "
A 180 degree turn from his campaign speeches that on Day One he'll make a difference.
Saying now that the closing of Gitmo may take longer than expected.
Saying now that the withdrawal of troops from Iraq has to be done orderly and in a reasonable time frame that doesn't plunge the country into chaos.
Saying now that the Patriot act is actually legal including "warrant-less wiretaps" despite the rants and ramblings of the ACLU.
Saying now that (as he stated on ABC's "This Week") the reality of the problems America faces at home and abroad cannot be fixed by simplistic campaign rhetoric.

According to the St. Petersburg newspaper, Obama made over 500 promises in his campaign rhetoric...more than the last two Presidents combined.

Yeah, reality is sinking in, and he's beginning to understand that campaign rhetoric is what it is, air-filled rhetoric.
Makes one long for the "straight talk express" doesn't it? I just hope that Obama's blind worshipers get hit with the same dose of reality.

Enjoy the 150,000,000 million dollar party , and have a great honeymoon, because weather you think so or not, the Kool-Aid crowd has set the bar way to high, and the promises of change will never get him close to getting over it

And for those of you who wish to lay the blame on G.W, I only have this to say..................

What The Hell Are We Gonna Do ?

Holder as our top cop ? What the hell was Obama thinking. Mr Pardon here, who gets Christmas cards from the Rich family, and the FALN, and the man who wants to censor the Internet to advise our President.

And what about Geithner ? The man that collects your taxes, but forgets to pay his. That sounds like a real stroke of genius.

After the election, I told myself that I would wait for Obama's picks to help convince myself that we were not doomed to go down the drain that we are circling now.
I have to say, I am not convinced that the great change is coming.
We all need to prepare, become self reliant, and keep our friends and family close. We have no idea who will be sworn in next week, and the best way to ensure our survival is to prepare for the worst. No, I don't preach of the apocalypse, or hundreds of nukes coming at us. In my opinion, we are financial cripples, and vulnerable to schemes and rip-offs from the new Government

Here is the board, you spin it. The Kool-Aid drinkers are blinded by the Obama headlights, and will follow him right off a cliff if ordered to do so. The confirmation hearings are a waste of time, and if even someone stood up against an Obama appointment, they would be frowned upon, and made an outcast.
As Americans, we need to stand, we need to keep our eyes open, and not be afraid to speak out.
Stand up people, It's our Country, and our Government. If you know it's wrong, don't be afraid to say it

A Trillion More

There it is friends. Wave goodbye to another chunk of cash that will be lost and unaccounted for. More money our great grand kids will be repaying to China, or Saudi Arabia, or whoever else extends us some credit.

No jobs anywhere. Home foreclosures mean no state and local taxes paid, so many local government services are gone

No one working so less money paid in federal income taxes, and less cash the new Congress will be able to spend, unless they borrow more.

Yeah, that change we heard about is coming fast

In a conversation I had today in a political chat room, I was told that the government needed to take money and spend it where it would do the most good. We should let them create jobs, and put the US back on its feet.

I simply said " You want bigger government, you hope that capitalism is destroyed "

The first thing that was shot back to me was " We are not socialist's ! " and " Obama is for the working class ! " and I was even called a racist for speaking out against the chat room person.

After all the spelling in caps ended, I wrote " let us remember, the bulk of income tax paid to the government is from the private sector. Without the private companies and non government business, there would not be a billion, or a trillion, or even five bucks for the big banks, or the insurance companies, or the auto manufacturers to go to DC and beg for.

The money belongs to us, the people, and so does the government. I hope I am not the only one outraged over another trillion being handed to the same democrats that got us into this mess.

Let's be honest, shall we ? You Obama supporters are starting to see where your new president is going with this country ?

Those of you that voted for him because of guilt, or fear of being called a racist are scratching your heads now, right ?

Don't worry, there are some Obama supporters that are still in good spirits

Yup. They got you. If you don't know it yet, you will.

Welcome back Clinton era
Welcome to welfare, handouts, and big government

Hey, at least there are a few that are happy with things

A Post Turtle

While stitching a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama as our new President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.'

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there to begin with.'

I read this joke on a DC Craigslist post today and could not even laugh. It is funny, but we have no reason to laugh.

I see the return of the Clinton era, and if I am not mistaken, that is not the change that was promised, but a return to the old days. I guess there is a big fence post in DC

I will save that for another day, because what did make me laugh today is that Franken went to work this morning

Yeah, he will bring us change.

Meanwhile, Burris was handed his coat and sent out the door.

I knew it would happen, but I don't think it was the right thing to do to him. I know, Blogo has a lot of accusations swirling around him, but in this country we are presumed innocent, correct ? I still think Blogo will sing a tune the Dems will not want to hear when the time comes, but until then, I think Burris should get in there and get to work with the rest of the DC boys and girls.

The other thing that made me laugh today is this guy

Oh yeah, Panetta over the CIA. Maybe he can investigate what is being smoked or drank over in the Obama headquarters.

But then, maybe it was a mistake, maybe they heard Obama wrong.

Maybe the phone was broken
