Should We Care About the Ayres Connection ?

Should you and I care about the connection between Barrack Obama and Bill Ayres ? Well first, do you know who Ayres is ?

Ayers, 63, spent 10 years as a fugitive in the 1970s when he was part of the "Weather Underground," an anti-Vietnam War group that protested U.S. policies by bombing the Pentagon, U.S. Capitol and a string of other government buildings. Nobody was hurt in the attacks by the defunct organization, which the FBI labeled a "domestic terrorist group."
In the mid-1990s, Ayers and his wife, fellow " Weather Underground " member Bernadine Dohrn hosted a meet-and-greet at their house to introduce Obama to their neighbors during his first run for the Illinois Senate. In 2001, Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign. Ayers also served alongside Obama between December 1999 and December 2002 on the board of the not-for-profit Woods Fund of Chicago. That board met four times a year, and members would see each other at occasional dinners the group hosted.
A book Ayers penned about those years, Fugitive Days, landed him in hot water on Sept. 11, 2001. That morning, the New York Times ran a story about the book in which Ayers said, "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."
My opinion here, but Ayres sounds like a piece of crap that should have been put in a raft and shoved out to sea. So, how close are Obama and Ayres ?

A mentor ? This man has a deep hate for the United States, and some very radical views. It is unbelievable to me that we even allow him to remain in this country, but even worse, is that someone that is friends with this guy, who works with him, and who has been subjected to his radical views just may be in charge of our nation.
The very idea that Obama would connect himself with a terrorist like Ayres should make us question his agenda, and yes, we should be concerned with the connection of these two men. Does Obama care about our country, and our well being ? Watch this and tell me what you think

First of All, Oh My Gosh!! To be even associated with Ayres period, but to be associated with him and be running for president, what kinda crap is this.

Maybe Obama didn't have his hand over his heart, because the singing left a bit to be desired. Just Kidding!!
There is really no excuse except he is trying to make statements and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Maybe he thinks we are just stupid as a Americans and will not say anything. The scary thing is some are and will still vote and over look this kind of crap!!

Let's see - is this guy Ayres a criminal? Did he spend any real time inside?
If not - what's this all about?
If I were you I'd be far more concerned about the flawed and fraudulent electoral system you have; until you correct it democracy doesn't exist.

When Sarah Palin said Obama was "palling around" with terrorists she must have meant that Obama and Ayers were members of the board of an anti-poverty group called the Woods Fund of Chicago between 1999 and 2002 as well as contributing $200 to Obama's re-election fund to the Illinois State Senate in April 2001. BUT, you neglected to mention John McCain said he would lay off this topic because McCain’s funders also have strong ties to Bill Ayres as well. However, I think Obama lied when he said he wasn't aware of Bill's past.

I wonder if it will lead the Obama camp to point out McCain's friendship with the 1960s radical David Ifshin. In 1970 he traveled to Hanoi and urged American troops to rebel against the Vietnam War. People called him a traitor. They said that he may have cost American lives. When Ifshin died of cancer a few years back, McCain attended the funeral and spoke of how Ifshin "always felt passionate about his country." Adding, 'I learned a lot about courage from David." McCain said that their relationship proved how futile it was to look back in anger. I applaud that.

It seems hard to avoid everyone who once took a stand against the Vietnam war or other types of radical movements if you have been a politician for a long time, like McCain and Obama. Lots of these once radicals are highly respected in the political arena now.

Thanks for listening!

As I see it, the connection could have been overlooked if Obama would have distanced himself from Ayres, But they keep reappearing together in such deals as the 6 mill a year to fund socialist schools, and groups such as acorn, who was recently raided by the FBI for voter fraud. Why not tell us the truth now instead of letting it be discovered ? Also, McCain said he would back off, I'm just getting started

What? You have concerns that someone who has a legitimate shot at being the president has ties to someone who actively participated in bombing government buildings?

Seems like we all ought to be damned concerned.

I'll tell you what concerns me even more -- the fact that Bush has reduced the status of the Republican party to the point where flakes like Obama actually have a chance of winning an election. 20 years ago, Obama would have been crushed by anyone the Republicans chose to run.

Yes, we're right on the verge of putting a maniac in the White House, and that's due in no small part to that bumbling Bush. I've voted primarily Republican since I turned 18 and I'm honestly wondering just what the hell happened to my party.

It's a little much to believe that there was no knowledge of this guy's past activities on the part of Obama. You don't get into a fight like he's in and suddenly get knocked conscious.
